Three weeks ago I spent 3 nights in the “Quality Hotel Berlin City-East. It is one of the biggest hotels in Berlin located in the northeast of Berlin, near the historic centre, so that I used the opportunity to visit some attractions in the surroundings.
One of these attractions is the Television Tower on the west side of Alexanderplatz marking the centre of the capital with a height of originally 365 meters. By the inhabitants it is nicknamed TV-asparagus.
Visitors like me from all over the world enjoy the view and restaurant in the globe which stands 250 meters above ground, rotating around its own axis.
After a delicious coffee I took the way to the Neptune Fountain with its fantastic statues that once stood in front of the City Palace and is now in front of the “Red” Town Hall just west of the tower.
Nearby you can have a look into the interior of the famous Church of our Lady (Marienkirche) built in the 13th and 14th century in gothic style.
I was recommended to continue my sightseeing towards the beautiful avenue “Unter den Linden” where I discovered another great number of impressive architectural monuments.
